🏡 This Week on the Porch
I read in a book (The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin) a statement that has stayed with me literally YEARS after reading it: the days are long but the years are short.
25-year-old me may not have grasped the sweetly sad truth of those words, but I get it now. And now any of those moments that feel so hard, never-ending, or just overwhelming are much easier to put into perspective.
Do you have words or phrases or ideas that have stuck with you after reading a book? I have so many!
I read Gretchen’s book in the first book club I joined, and that was 15+ years ago so that phrase has definitely stuck with me. It has also challenged me, helped me through moments of upheaval, and given me many opportunities to share thoughts around it with others, which always leads to fabulous conversations.
My new book club hosted by my friend Melody and myself, both former librarians, inside The Cozy Collective app officially starts August 1, and I would love for you to be part of it.
We will read a book together each month, have fun discussion prompts in the chat space, some fun games and resources about the book, and even a LIVE (but virtual) meet-up to discuss the book together.
August’s book is Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano, and there will be a variety of genres as the months go on.
I’d love for you to be part of this, and I have a special discount for you to try it out!
